Six Gauhati University Faculty Members Named in World’s Top 2% Scientists List

Guwahati: Six faculty members of Gauhati University have been featured in the 2026 World’s Top 2% Scientists list, recognising the institution’s contribution to scientific research and academic excellence. The global listing is associated with Stanford University and Elsevier and is based on research output and citation indicators.

The recognised faculty members are Professor Bhupendra Nath Goswami, Professor Prodeep Phukan, Professor Ranjit Thakuria, Professor Bipan Hazarika, Dr Arun Kumar Dutta and Dr Lachit Dutta. Their inclusion strengthens Gauhati University’s academic standing in the Northeast.
