Assam University Research Scholar Accuses Professor of Harassment

Silchar: A female research scholar from Assam University has accused Professor Pintu Saha of making an indecent proposal, allegedly attempting to molest her and threatening to harm her academic career after she rejected his advances. The alleged incident took place during a seminar in Bengaluru on September 26.
The scholar filed a complaint with the university’s Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) on October 8 and an FIR on October 11. Cachar Superintendent of Police Partha Pratim Das confirmed that a preliminary investigation has begun, while the university said its ICC is examining the complaint according to established procedures.
