GMC Continues Spot-Fine Drives to Curb Littering and Illegal Waste Dumping in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has continued its spot-fine enforcement drives across the city to improve cleanliness, strengthen public hygiene and maintain a healthier urban environment. The civic body is stepping up monitoring and taking action against violations of municipal cleanliness regulations.

The enforcement drives target offences such as littering in public places, improper waste disposal, illegal garbage dumping and the use of prohibited single-use plastic products. Through regular inspections and penalties for violations, the GMC aims to promote responsible waste management and encourage citizens to follow civic rules.

The corporation has urged residents to cooperate with these initiatives by disposing of waste properly and keeping public spaces clean. Collective participation and responsible civic behaviour, it said, are essential to building a cleaner, greener and healthier Guwahati.
