Assam Government Issues New Guidelines for Cook-Cum-Helpers Under PM POSHAN

Guwahati: The Assam government has issued new guidelines for the appointment, re-engagement and termination of cook-cum-helpers (CCHs) under the PM POSHAN scheme. Prior approval from district commissioners is now mandatory before discontinuing their services.

Under the guidelines, schools with up to 25 students can engage one CCH, while those with 26–100 students can appoint two. Preference will be given to eligible women and economically weaker candidates. The government has also directed schools to ensure transparency and fairness in the selection and re-engagement process.
