AASU-Backed Panel Wins Big in Cotton University Students’ Union Elections 2025

The Cotton University Students’ Union Elections 2025 saw a sweeping victory for the AASU-backed panel, securing key posts including General Secretary. ACP-backed candidate Deep Shekhar Kalita was elected President, while Tuja Brahma of Chatra Mukti became Vice President. Out of 5,529 voters, 2,521 cast their ballots (45.59% turnout). Despite mixed results for other groups, AASU reaffirmed its dominance in Assam’s student politics.
