AASU Launches Statewide Agitation Demanding Justice for Zubeen Garg

Twenty-six days after singer Zubeen Garg’s death, the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) began a statewide protest demanding a transparent and time-bound investigation. The student body accused the SIT of slow progress and questioned why key witnesses from Singapore haven’t been summoned. AASU called for a comprehensive chargesheet naming all involved. Candlelight vigils will be held on October 19, followed by mass protests from October 23. The union stressed that their movement is moral, not political, seeking justice for Assam’s beloved cultural icon.
