AASU Protest in Khetri Against Rising Prices of Goods

The Khetri regional unit of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) organized a protest near Dimoria College Gate today against the increasing costs of essential goods, including fuel and life-saving medications. Protesters, including students and locals, criticized the state administration for failing to control price hikes. They targeted the food, civil supplies, and consumer affairs minister, symbolically burning an effigy.

Leaders like Amarjyoti Baishya and Bedanta Barua led the demonstration, voicing strong opposition to state policies that they claim adversely affect public welfare. The protest demanded immediate relief from inflation, particularly for essential goods across Assam.
