AASU to Protest on August 8 Against Withdrawal of Foreigners’ Tribunal Cases

AASU will hold statewide protests on August 8 against the Assam government’s move to withdraw cases against Hindu Bangladeshi immigrants. Calling it a violation of the Assam Accord, AASU plans to burn copies of the directive. Opposition leaders also condemned the move, accusing the government of communal bias and subverting indigenous rights through selective CAA implementation.
