Adult Tigress Found Dead in Kaziranga, Territorial Fight Suspected

The carcass of an adult female tiger was recovered from the Bagori range of Kaziranga National Park during a routine patrol. Forest officials said the 8–10-year-old tigress was found near the West Bimoli camp and the area was immediately secured.

A postmortem conducted by an National Tiger Conservation Authority committee indicated death due to severe internal and external injuries, likely from a territorial fight with another tiger. Officials ruled out signs of poaching, though samples have been sent for forensic analysis.

Authorities said monitoring and patrolling will be intensified, noting that high tiger density in Kaziranga can lead to such conflicts.
