African Swine Fever Resurfaces in Dhakuakhana, Pigs Culled

African Swine Fever has reappeared in Dhakuakhana, Lakhimpur, after nearly 18 months. Authorities banned pig rearing, sale, and consumption within 10 km of the affected area. On August 21, 18 pigs were culled at a farm in Kherkati Gaon Panchayat after tests confirmed ASF. The outbreak marks the disease’s return since December 2022.
