AGP Eyes Growth Ahead of 2026 Assam Polls, Boosted by Panchayat Wins

Encouraged by recent panchayat poll results, AGP plans to expand its organisational base for the 2026 Assembly elections. AGP vice president Apurba Bhattacharjee said zonal-level reviews will assess local strengths and weaknesses. While seat-sharing with NDA allies is yet to be discussed, AGP aims to boost its tally beyond the 9 seats won in 2021. The party also plans selective participation in upcoming BTC polls, without formal alliances.
