AJP Slams Amit Shah, Himanta Biswa Sarma Over Immigration and Flood Promises

Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) general secretary Jagadish Bhuyan on Saturday criticised Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for allegedly failing to deliver on promises related to deportation of illegal immigrants and permanent flood control in Assam. He termed Shah’s proposal of large reservoirs to tackle floods as unrealistic and questioned the absence of any scientific plan. Bhuyan also cited official data to highlight low deportation numbers despite repeated assurances, accusing the BJP of misleading the public and facilitating citizenship for illegal migrants under the CAA. He further condemned the Chief Minister’s recent remarks targeting a community, calling them unconstitutional and inflammatory.
