Alleged Illegal Tree Felling Disrupts Power Supply in Lumding

Lumding/Karbi Anglong: Suspected illegal tree felling near the 12 Kilo area along the Lumding-Diphu road reportedly damaged overhead power lines after a felled tree came into contact with them, leaving large parts of Lumding without electricity. The incident allegedly occurred inside a reserved forest under the jurisdiction of the Diphu Forest Division.

Electricity department personnel have been working to repair the damaged lines and restore normal supply. Meanwhile, local residents have raised concerns over the alleged illegal felling of trees and demanded a thorough investigation and strict action against those responsible.
