Amit Shah to Visit Assam for Border Security Review and CRPF Parade

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Assam for two days starting Thursday, focusing on border security, rural development and internal security. He will begin his tour in Silchar, including a visit to a border village in Katigorah to review security arrangements and border fencing along the Indo-Bangladesh border.

In Silchar, Shah will also launch Phase 2 of the Vibrant Villages Programme to boost infrastructure and livelihoods in border areas. On Saturday, he will attend the 87th Raising Day Parade of the CRPF at Sarusajai Stadium in Guwahati, the first such national parade in the Northeast. He is also expected to meet state leaders ahead of the 2026 Assam Assembly elections.
