APCC Slams Assam Govt Over Delay in Granting ST Status

The Assam Congress has accused the BJP-led State government of misleading six indigenous communities—Moran, Matak, Ahom, Chutia, Koch-Rajbongshi, and Tea Tribes—on the issue of Scheduled Tribe (ST) status. APCC leaders claimed the government failed to submit key reports to the Centre and lacked sincerity. They urged CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to act on the Biplab Kumar Sharma Committee’s recommendations immediately.
