APDCL Urged to Modernise Infrastructure Amid Weather Challenges

Assam Power Distribution Company Limited is facing growing challenges in maintaining power supply during storms and bad weather, especially in Goalpara district. Officials said the use of basic tools for repairs is delaying emergency response and increasing risks for workers.

APDCL director Dr Kashyap Prakash stressed the need for modern equipment, new grid substations, stronger transmission infrastructure, and stricter action against power theft. He also promoted rooftop solar power to reduce pressure on the electricity network.
