Army Deployed in Dhubri Amid Communal Tensions, Security Concerns

The Army’s 23 Para Special Forces have been deployed in Assam’s Dhubri district after recent communal tensions and evictions. The unit, trained in special operations, will be based in Bilasipara and tasked with internal and border security along the vulnerable Bangladesh frontier. Authorities fear infiltration and sleeper cell activity, with past arrests of ABT operatives linked to AQIS. A permanent Army camp is planned as state and central agencies tighten vigilance.
