The Assam State Disaster Management Authority has handed over 40 motorised high-speed inflatable rescue boats to the State Disaster Response Force to boost disaster response in Assam. The induction was inaugurated by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Keshab Mahanta at Guwahati’s Gateway Ghat Terminal.
Equipped with 30-horsepower engines and advanced rescue gear, the boats will aid swift operations during floods and water-related emergencies. ASDMA said it has provided a total of 301 such boats to the SDRF so far to strengthen disaster preparedness across the state.
