ASF Outbreak Reported in Lakhimpur, Prohibitory Orders Imposed

Lakhimpur district administration has imposed prohibitory orders after African Swine Fever was detected in Gagaldubi village. Villages within 1 km are marked as “Infected Zone” and those within 10 km as “Surveillance Zone.” Movement of pigs, pork products, and related materials has been banned. Infected pigs may be culled, with carcasses disposed of under strict bio-security norms. Authorities warned that improper disposal of carcasses will invite legal punishment.
