Assam Allocates ₹24 Crore for Veterinary Healthcare, to Open Pet Care Hospitals
The Assam government has allocated ₹24 crore in the 2025-26 budget to strengthen veterinary healthcare by establishing pet care hospitals in Guwahati, Bokakhat, and Dibrugarh. The Dibrugarh hospital, set to open by October 2025, will serve as a key facility for animal healthcare in Upper Assam.
In addition, the government has approved major projects, including the regulation of coaching institutes, industrial parks in Kamrup and Morigaon, and driver training centers with automated testing tracks. Plans to propose Majuli and Sivasagar as UNESCO heritage sites and improve NEET exam facilities in government schools were also discussed.
