Assam Allows 24×7 Shop Operations in Major Cities

Shops in Dibrugarh, Guwahati, and Silchar can now operate 24×7, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced after a Cabinet meeting. Weekly closures are not mandatory, but employee work hours must not exceed 48 hours per week. In other areas, shops can stay open till 2 am. Wine shops in Dibrugarh and Silchar can operate until midnight. MLA hostel and Secretariat construction in Guwahati will finish within a year.
