Assam Approves ₹564-Crore Elevated Corridor in Silchar

The Assam Cabinet approved a ₹564.5-crore project to build a 3.46 km elevated corridor from Trunk Road to Rangirkhari in Silchar, aiming to ease congestion and improve mobility. The review also discussed a new Barak River bridge at Madhuraghat and four-laning of the Silchar–Hailakandi road. Officials said these projects will boost connectivity, cut travel time, and support Barak Valley’s growth.
