Assam Assembly Passes Bill to Expand Majuli University’s Academic Scope

Guwahati, July 28: The Assam Legislative Assembly on Monday passed the Majuli University (Amendment) Bill, 2026, paving the way for the transformation of the Majuli University of Culture into Majuli University.

The amendment will allow the university to introduce courses in disciplines such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Management and Technology, while continuing its mission of preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Majuli and Assam.
