Assam BJP Finalising Strategy for 2026 Elections, Says CM Sarma

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said the BJP’s strategy for the 2026 Assembly elections is nearly complete, with only discussions in the Bodoland Territorial Region pending. He said the final plan will be confirmed during Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s upcoming visit.
Sarma stated that talks with NDA partners in BTR will begin in January, following the recently concluded council polls. Dismissing the opposition, he claimed they hold no significant ground in the region.
The statement comes a day after BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary indicated possible seat-sharing discussions with the NDA for the 2026 election.
