Assam BJP Holds Rallies in Guwahati, Silchar and Jorhat Backing SIR

Guwahati: The Assam unit of the BJP organised rallies in Guwahati, Silchar and Jorhat as part of a statewide awareness campaign supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. In Guwahati, state BJP president Dilip Saikia led a rally from Khanapara, while party leaders and workers accused the Congress and other Opposition groups of spreading misleading claims about voter deletions and undermining democratic institutions.
Similar rallies were held in Silchar and Jorhat, with BJP leaders calling for electoral roll revision and national unity while criticising protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The mobilisation follows Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s announcement that the party would organise peaceful rallies at district headquarters across Assam from October 13 to 31.
