The Assam government’s 2025-26 budget prioritizes women’s welfare with initiatives in financial aid, healthcare, safety, and entrepreneurship.

  • Financial Assistance: Orunodoi Scheme aid raised to ₹1,400 monthly, benefiting 37.2 lakh women. Women Start-up Fund offers interest-free loans and grants. Swanirbhar Naari Scheme expanded for weavers.
  • Economic Empowerment: Lakhpati Baideo Scheme to create 1 lakh rural women entrepreneurs. Land ownership policies revised for better financial security.
  • Health & Welfare: 200 new crèches for working mothers, expanded maternal healthcare, increased nutrition support, and a mental health helpline.
  • Safety & Security: More Sakhi Centres, new shelter homes, increased women police deployment, CCTV in public areas, and fast-track courts.
  • Housing & Pension: 1 lakh homes for widows and single women, along with subsidized home loans and a new pension scheme.
