Assam Chief Secretary Ravi Kota will assume office in March.

Mr. Paban Kumar Borthkur, who received a three-month extension in December 2023 with effect from March 31st, would be replaced as Chief Secretary by Ravi Kota. Dr. Ravi Kota, an IAS officer from the 1993 batch of Assam-Meghalaya, offers an abundance of experience in his current position.

In addition to his role as chief secretary, he will become the Department of Industry, Trade and Public Enterprises’ additional chief secretary and continue to have additional authority over the finance department. Furthermore, he has been assigned to the Assam Chief Secretary’s Office as an Officer of Special Duty (OSD).
