Assam CID Arrests Fraudster for Rs 65 Crore Scam

Assam CID arrested Dewaprakash Bhagawati for embezzling Rs 65 crore through fake work orders linked to the Matak Council. Several accomplices, including Parth Bhardwaj and Pallavi Thakuria, have also been detained. In a separate case, Palashbari police arrested Himadri Das for job placement fraud after evading an arrest warrant since 2022. Both cases highlight ongoing efforts to crack down on fraud.
