Assam CM Confident in PM Modi’s Efforts to Protect Hindus in Bangladesh

Amid rising reports of minority persecution in Bangladesh, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed confidence in PM Modi’s diplomatic efforts to ensure Hindu safety. Speaking at an event in Silchar, he assured that ongoing communication between Indian and Bangladeshi authorities would address the issue.
Sarma’s remarks coincided with a “Bangladesh Chalo” march near the Sutarkandi border, demanding an end to atrocities against minorities. He acknowledged the protestors’ concerns and highlighted heightened security in Assam, especially in border areas.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar earlier confirmed in Parliament that India had raised the issue with Bangladesh authorities, emphasizing its seriousness.
