Assam CM Courts Global Investors for Semiconductor Hub

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is actively promoting the state as a semiconductor hub during his visit to Singapore for “Advantage Assam 2.0.” He engaged with industry leaders, including the Singapore Semiconductor Industries Association, to attract investment. Sarma also met Singapore’s Deputy PM Gan Kim Yong and invited 200 business leaders to Assam. Plans include a World Skill Centre for workforce training and Electronic City in Jagiroad to boost manufacturing. His efforts align with India’s semiconductor expansion, including a ₹27,000 crore Tata Semiconductor unit in Morigaon.
