Assam CM Criticized Over Security Lapse on Independence Day

Jorhat MP Gaurav Gogoi criticized Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma for a security lapse that allowed ULFA-I to plant bombs at multiple locations on Independence Day. Gogoi called it a failure of police intelligence and blamed the BJP for taking Assam backward. Assam Congress chief Bhupen Kumar Borah also slammed the CM for focusing on non-urgent issues while compromising security and development. During search operations, security forces recovered an IED and bomb-like materials from several locations in the city.
