Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to Open New Office in Dibrugarh

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced the establishment of a new Chief Minister’s office in Dibrugarh district. The office will operate four days a month, focusing on serving the North and Upper Assam regions.

During a Facebook Live session, Sarma revealed his visit to Dibrugarh on September 5 and a cabinet meeting in North Lakhimpur on September 4. He also emphasized that cabinet ministers will dine at BJP workers’ homes rather than at government expense during their visit.

This move seems to address recent unrest in Upper Assam, where indigenous communities have raised safety concerns. Sarma also plans to introduce two new bills in the upcoming assembly session, targeting “Love Jihad” and protecting tribal land rights.
