Assam CM lays foundation stone for longest flyover
The construction of a four-lane ‘elevated corridor’, or flyover, with a minimum height of 5.70 metres and a length of 5,053.20 meters—which is expected to cost Rs 852.68 crore—began with the laying of the foundation stone by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The flyover would connect Dighalipukhuri with Noonmati and extend its arms towards GNB Road, West Dighalipukhuri Road and Rajgarh Road. The elevated corridor, which will be the longest in the city when it is finished, will be constructed under the general supervision of the Public Works (Roads) Department of the Government of Assam and is expected to be operational by 2026.
