Assam CM Praises Police After Heroin Seizure in Cachar

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday praised the state police after 675 grams of suspected heroin were seized in Cachar district. The drugs, packed in 55 soap cases, were recovered during an operation in which one person was detained.

Sharing the update on X, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s zero-tolerance policy against drugs. Earlier this week, Assam Rifles and Cachar Police also seized heroin worth around ₹40 lakh in a joint operation. Further investigation is underway to trace the drug network.
