Assam CM Warns Drug Traffickers After Poppy Destruction

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma condemned drug traffickers after 170 bighas of illegal poppy cultivation worth ₹27.20 crore were destroyed in Goalpara. Calling it a major step in Assam’s anti-drug drive, he mocked traffickers on social media, saying, “Sorry to ruin your planned Udta Assam party!”

The Assam Police have intensified operations against drug networks, with Sarma warning that the government will not tolerate illegal activities.
