Assam Congress Ends Alliance With Raijor Dal

Guwahati: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has formally ended its political alliance with the Akhil Gogoi-led Raijor Dal with immediate effect. The decision was taken under the direction of APCC president and Lok Sabha Deputy Leader of Opposition Gaurav Gogoi, with the Congress citing repeated violations of alliance norms.

The Congress alleged that Raijor Dal leaders had repeatedly made critical and derogatory remarks against Congress and other alliance leaders, making the partnership difficult to continue. The two parties had entered into an electoral alliance ahead of the 2026 Assam Assembly polls, but the relationship has since deteriorated.
