Assam Congress Felicitates Newly Elected MPs, Vows to Counter Communal Politics
The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) organized a felicitation event to welcome newly elected Members of Parliament Gaurav Gogoi, Rakibul Hussain, and Pradyut Bordoloi. APCC President Bhupen Bora and Debabrata Saikia, Leader of Opposition in the Assam Legislative Assembly, led the ceremony.
In his speech, Bora emphasized the significant support for Congress in the recent elections and praised the people of Jorhat for supporting Gaurav Gogoi. He also addressed the party’s stance against communal clashes incited by figures like Ajmal and Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Pradyut Bordoloi, the newly elected MP from Nagaon, commended Rakibul Hussain for opposing AIUDF’s communal politics and highlighted future challenges posed by Himanta Biswa Sarma. Gaurav Gogoi expressed gratitude for the support from Jorhat and shared his skepticism about Narendra Modi’s continued tenure as Prime Minister. He also critiqued internal dynamics within the BJP, noting Mrinal Saikia’s dominance over the Chief Minister in party knowledge.
