Assam Disburses Entrepreneurship Cheques to 30,000 Women in Borsola

The Assam government on Friday distributed entrepreneurship cheques to over 30,000 women under the Chief Minister’s Women Entrepreneurship Scheme at a public event in Borsola. Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the scheme promotes dignity and financial independence for women, noting that around 32 lakh beneficiaries across the state have already been covered.

Health Minister Ashok Singhal highlighted Assam’s broader development gains, while Sonitpur MP Ranjit Dutta spoke on the impact of Centre–State welfare convergence. On the sidelines, the Chief Minister laid foundation stones for upgrading Tezpur Medical College Hospital, a new model college, and inaugurated sports infrastructure, underscoring the government’s focus on healthcare, education, and sports.
