Assam Districts Adjust School Timings Amid Heatwave Concerns

Amid heatwave-like conditions in Assam, districts including Kamrup (Metro) have altered school timings to safeguard students’ health. Authorities issued directives for ringing the water bell and holding morning assemblies indoors to prevent heat-related health issues. Lakhimpur district rescheduled school timings starting May 23 due to temperatures exceeding 37 degrees Celsius. Schools in Jorhat, Nagaon, and Majuli adjusted timings and assembly schedules to ensure student well-being amidst rising temperatures.
