Assam Flood Situation Improves, Over 51,800 Still Affected

Assam’s flood situation showed further improvement on Sunday, with the number of affected people falling to over 51,800 across five districts, according to the latest ASDMA bulletin. No fresh flood-related deaths were reported, keeping this year’s toll at 104. Nagaon remained the worst-hit district with 32,132 affected people, followed by Jorhat and Sivasagar.

Floodwaters continue to affect 170 villages across 14 revenue circles, while 14 relief camps are sheltering 1,731 displaced people. Around 3,628 hectares of cropland and 18,474 animals have also been affected, with damage reported to roads and other infrastructure. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and provide relief to affected communities.
