Assam flood situation still grim, nearly 33,500 affected

The number of districts and subdivisons affected in the first wave of floods rose to 18 on Monday evening from 14 the previous day.

However, the number of flood-hit people in the state has come down by about 3,000 in the last 24 hours, said the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) bulletin.
