Assam GoM to Submit Report on ST Status Demand by Six Communities

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the Group of Ministers (GoM) examining ST status for six communities will submit its report on November 25. The report will be discussed in the state Assembly, and further action will follow based on Assembly decisions. Communities demanding ST status include Moran, Matak, Ahom, Chutia, Koch-Rajbongshi, and Tea Tribes.
