Assam Government Suspends Five ACS Officers for Defying Election Duty Orders
Ahead of the November 13 by-polls, five Assam Civil Service (ACS) officers have been suspended for non-compliance with transfer orders issued by the Chief Electoral Officer. The officers, who failed to report to their new election-related postings, were suspended under Rule 6(1) of the Assam Services (Discipline & Appeal) Rules, 1964.
The suspended officers include Saroj Kumar Deka, Kabyashree Dihingya, Jintu Sarma, Parishmita Dehingia, and Kongkan Jyoti Saikia, who all cited personal reasons for refusing their new assignments.
