Assam Government to Unveil Realistic Budget for FY 2024–25 on February 12

The Assam government, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, is scheduled to present the state’s budget for the financial year 2024–25 on February 12, 2024. This marks the fourth budget under Chief Minister Sarma’s administration. The ‘Budget Session’ is set to commence on February 5, 2024. Assam’s Finance Minister, Ajanta Neog, has committed to presenting a “realistic” budget, emphasizing a pragmatic approach. In the previous year, Neog unveiled a budget with an aggregate expenditure estimated at Rs 3.21 lakh crore for the fiscal year.
