Assam Government Undertakes ₹360-Crore Modernisation of State Zoo

Guwahati: The Assam Government is carrying out a ₹360-crore modernisation of the Assam State Zoo to strengthen wildlife conservation and improve visitor facilities. The project includes a modern veterinary hospital, a wildlife rescue centre, the world’s largest bird aviary, and upgraded animal enclosures.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said around 27% of the work has been completed, with the aim of transforming the zoo into a world-class wildlife and conservation facility.
