Assam Govt Approves Panchayat Delimitation, Launches Mission Basundhara 3.0

The Assam government has approved the District Delimitation Commission’s recommendations to redraw gaon panchayats, anchalik panchayats, and zilla parishad constituencies for better governance, excluding Sixth Schedule districts. The number of Gaon Panchayats will reduce slightly to 2,193 from 2,197, while the total number of development blocks remains unchanged.

Additionally, the cabinet announced the launch of Mission Basundhara 3.0 on October 19, focusing on digital land-related services and settlement of land issues under various categories.
