Assam Govt Monitoring LPG Supply, Says No Shortage Despite Limited Refinery Capacity

The Government of Assam has started closely monitoring the supply of LPG after Ravi Kota said the state’s refineries can currently meet only about 30% of the LPG demand.
Assam has four refineries at Digboi, Guwahati, Bongaigaon, and Numaligarh. Authorities have asked them to increase production to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma assured that there is currently no LPG shortage in the state. A high-level committee and a media monitoring team have also been formed to review fuel supply and curb misinformation. Officials said adequate LPG stock is available across the Northeast.
