Assam Govt Pushes NEET Reforms, Industrial Growth & Education Regulation

The Assam government has urged the Centre to enhance NEET security, including biometric verification and stricter monitoring by district officials. It also seeks to limit exam centers to government schools for transparency.

The Cabinet scrapped the Char area quota in MBBS/BDS admissions from 2025-26 and proposed an amendment requiring security clearance for new healthcare institutions. A bill will regulate private coaching centers to ensure quality education.

For industrial growth, land has been allotted for Mega Industrial Parks in Kamrup and Morigaon. Accredited Driver Training Centres with automated test tracks will be set up across 126 constituencies.
