Assam Govt Transfers 15 Senior Officers Ahead of Assembly Elections

Ahead of the upcoming Assam Assembly elections, the state government has carried out a major reshuffle of 15 senior IAS and state service officers across several districts.
According to an order issued by Personnel Department Secretary Monita Borgohain, Partha Pratim Majumdar has been appointed as the new District Commissioner (DC) of Bajali, while Mridul Kumar Das has been posted as Additional Secretary in the Home & Political and Women & Child Development Departments.
Aditya Vikram Yadav has been appointed DC of Lakhimpur, replacing Pronab Jit Kakoty, who moves to the Skill Employment & Entrepreneurship Department. Preeti Kumari will serve as the new DC of West Karbi Anglong.
Ayushi Jain has been posted as DC of Darrang, while Pubali Gohain becomes the new DC of Golaghat. Other changes include new postings for officers in Baksa, Chirang and several state departments.
The reshuffle comes ahead of the Assembly elections for 126 constituencies expected in April, the first polls after the 2023 delimitation exercise.
