Assam Inaugurates New Pork Processing Project in Khanapara

State Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Minister Atul Bora inaugurated a new pork processing project at the Assam Livestock Poultry Corporation in Khanapara. The facility can process up to 100 pigs daily, aiming to supply healthy pork and products. Minister Bora emphasized the sector’s potential for youth self-reliance and the importance of increasing local production of milk, eggs, and meat. The project will also improve hygiene in pork sales. The corporation plans to establish large-scale pig farms and has trained 21,000 youths in animal husbandry, with 8,000 becoming self-employed.
